I'm closing this as it was caused by a non-Ubuntu package.
If you wish to continue using the more recent AWN packages, follow
Mark's advise above. If you which to use the Ubuntu version (which is
out of date in Hardy), make sure to completely uninstall avant-window-
navigator-bzr and the releated
FYI, you're trying to downgrade to a version of Awn which isn't
supported by the upstream developers (0.2.6 is the latest released
version of Awn). You probably need to update your repository URL for
reacocard's repository (where the libawn-bzr, etc. packages come from).
