I would be happy to provide any more information that you require. I've
really enjoyed the simple updates provided by the update applet. But now
I'm terrified that when the next big point release comes along it's
going to wipe out everything again. It's just not cool.

erased you old partition where you have installed Hardy. If isn't and
you can add files in /var/logs/dist-upgrade/ after you performed the
upgrade, please add it and change status to New. Thanks!
