What happens if you replace Virtual with 2048 2048 and lower the
resolution so that it still fits? Does the "noises" still appear? Of
course an X restart is needed after the change.

Maybe it has something to do with "(EE) intel(0): Cannot support DRI
with frame buffer width > 2048". Please attach the file
/etc/X11/xorg.conf.
