What do you mean?
There is only one /usr/bin/metar and one /usr/games/metar, an application
should not launch metar but either of the two. If it doesn't, than its a bug in
the application. In this case please report it so that it can be fixed.

Package "flightgear" conflicts with "metar"

Ok, it isn't really a package conflict, but do you think if somes
applications need to launch "metar" directly?
When I launch 'metar' from package metar
% /usr/bin/metar ehgr
EHGR 291155Z 18014KT SCT036 BKN050 13/05
There is no conflict, just use /usr/bin/metar or give priority to the
/usr/bin directory in your search path (one possible way is to make sure
that in your PATH environment variable /usr/bin is appended after
/usr/games).
