The changelog on the latest update to Hardy is about overflows with
gaussian blur over 12. I'm pretty sure this fixes this bug, because I
can get blur again, but it just does nothing at any number over 12. I'm
hoping a logout/login or restart will fix that.

I can confirm that using Ubuntu Hardy after an update from a couple days
ago to compiz causes a crash when using the blur plugin. And the only
way to use compiz is to disable the blur. But if compiz is running and
you select the blur option, it crashes again.
