I've now upgraded to Karmic, and the Evolution hanging problem is just as bad. I get "Filtering new message(s) (0% complete)" every hour or so, and I then have to: /usr/lib/evolution/2.28/killev && rm ~/.evolution/mail/exchange/*/folders.db && evolution --online & in order to get it working again
