This looks to have been "fixed" in Januty - now totem pops up a "An
error occurred Internal data stream error." dialog box when first trying
to the the file.

Hi Pedro, when I use that command gst-launch does the same thing: it
plays and stops soon after, then becomes unresponsive (I left it a while
to make sure it wouldn't finish on its own) until killed. Here's the log
file as requested.

thanks for your reprot, does the same happens if you launch the file
with: gst-launch playbin uri=file:///path/to/file.ogg ? if so can you
get a gstreamer log with: GST_DEBUG_NO_COLOR=1 GST_DEBUG=3 gst-launch
playbin uri=file:///path/to/file.ogg &> gstreamer-log.txt and attach
that file to the repo
I can confirm this on an up-to-date amd64 hardy install. One bit of
detail is missing from the report (for me, anyway): After step 2 the
multi.ogg file plays and stops very soon but totem doesn't seem to think
it has stopped and continues showing the pause button instead of the
play button. After t
