This is the same problem in .sig signatures. All work fine if associate
"seahorse-tool -v"

It appears to be limited to my profile, since a "guest" user on my
machine opens these files successfully. I checked my ~/.local/, where it
looked like custom file associations are, and saw nothing calling out
GPG there. In the "Open With" in the properties window, there are no
options, save for th
the mimetype is correct and seahorse desktops list it correctly, what
choices are in the properties dialog on this example?

That's interesting. On my machine, Nautilus lists the MIMEtype as
application/pgp-encrypted. I'll see what happens if I reinstall
Seahorse...
...still not associated properly. Later today, I'll check and see if it
might not just be a problem with my user profile.
