This problem seems to have gone away in the latest kernel builds in
hardy.

Pretty sure this is not a fuse/sshfs problem, as sshfs has not been
changed since october, and fuse has not been updated since 2/26. The
problem is something in the new kernel.

I have 2.6.24-14 here and sshfs can be easily crashed by doing a lot of
things in parallel on the mounted filesystem, f.ex. doing a copy of a
whole directory tree and pressing "cat " (to make bash
tabcomplete the names). That makes sshfs crash pretty consistently.
Same architecture here: amd64
