I should add that in my case, xine works fine; it's only totem-xine that
doesn't seem to have sound.

I just noticed the same thing. totem-gstreamer's sound is fine, totem-
xine gives not a peep.

Yeah, some further look makes it clearer. I can't use the sound in wesnoth
either. Or Miro which uses xine.
I had some funny errors too... for example when I try to click on "system" to
restart the computer "system" lights up, but nothing else. I can only move the
mouse around.
