I am burning a disc with >4GB right now, and the size is displayed
correctly. I don't really know how to reproduce the bug, but it is
somewhere, as two people have screenshots. I'm sorry I cannot be more
helpful now...

I just tried to reproduce it. The first time, I was actually too busy with
other things to watch out for it (it just displays when the actual burning
begins), d'oh.
The second attempt (running right now, shows the correct size of 2834M > 2^31.
).
I'll try a few more times, I have +RW discs :)
