That's an interesting read. So perhaps I did have the problem in 22.04,
I just didn't notice. Entirely possible given I and new to Linux and was
"drinking from a fire hose".
I now have a partial workaround, if I select UK formats the problem

I created a test user and it also has wrong dates
Here are a couple of snippets, one from my primary account (with
administrator privs) the other from the test user. Luckily it's already
4th march here in Australia, not 03/03/2025 :-)

And where do you see those dates? Nautilus properties/list view display
the month in letters and not numbers, same for `date` on a command line
prompt

Could you create a new test user on the system (from the 'users' panel
in setting) and check if that has the same issue? It would hint on
whether the bug is at the system level or due to the user config

AFAIK I don't have an unusual setup. I purchased my Lenovo Thinkpad
with Ubuntu pre-installed a few months ago and it's been working very well
generally.
As mentioned in my report date/time was working fine originally, but
definitely not working now.
Can you suggest what may be causing th
It seems to be working in 24.04.2 here: LC_TIME=en_AU.UTF-8 and Nautilus
displays "DD MMM " for me.
So I wonder what's different about your setup...
