the test plan should cover older gpu generations too, as this affects
them as well

[SRU] Upgrade to media driver version 24.3.4 in Noble
> Thanks for the clarification. Would 24.3.4+dfsg1-0ubuntu1~24.04 work?
I see that's how it's been done over on Mesa
I think that would work although "~24.04.1" is more commonly used per
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/SecurityTeam/UpdatePreparation#Update_the_packaging
and the same is used on Mesa.

[SRU] Upgrade to media
The version number forms part of the deb file name. If you had two debs
with slightly different contents (even due to rebuilding the same
source) then you wouldn't be able to tell which one it was. So the
version number needs forking in Noble.

You received this bug notification because you are
Zixing, can you please elaborate? It looks to me like the version is the
same as in Oracular:
-intel-media-driver (24.3.4+dfsg1-0ubuntu1) oracular; urgency=medium
+intel-media-driver (24.3.4+dfsg1-0ubuntu1) noble; urgency=medium
Is there a reason it needs to be different for the Noble SRU?

Y
Changes between Oracular's 24.3.4+dfsg1-0ubuntu1 and the patch posted in
this thread:
diff -Naur oracular/debian/changelog noble-proposed/debian/changelog
--- oracular/debian/changelog 2024-09-29 15:51:49.0 -0600
+++ noble-proposed/debian/changelog 2025-02-09 12:49:42.0 -0700
Yeah the diffs are impossible to review in this form. Also 17MB
each!?...
It looks like it's just adding Arrow Lake, Lunar Lake and Battlemage
support. But I think the sensible thing here is to apply the diffs and
then diff the result against the Oracular source. Make sure only debian/
differs aft
@waveform You would be correct that this is just a version bump to what
we have in Oracular. Our original graphics stack enablement happened on
Oracular, so we're mostly just trying to get that effort SRU'd back to
Noble

Looking at this during my patch pilot shift.
I'm probably not the best person to review this -- I suspect someone on
the desktop team would be better, but from a quick look at the
associated PPA, and the current status of the packages in question,
would I be right in thinking this is basically bum
