After installed the 8.04 Beta (std. 32bit version on a Dell Latitude C810) I
could not run Update manager or Synaptic...
...complaining about "missing /home/root/..." directory.
My work around where to create the misplaced(?) root home directory "/home/root"
In my point of view this is a critical
