Same thing, Ubuntu 22.04, after updating the kernel to 6.8.0-52-generic
(6.8.0-50 and 51 too) there is no S.M.A.R.T. and disk settings in
gnome-disk-utility
If you switch to kernel 6.8.0-49-generic, then everything works fine

Sorry for butting in on your conversation. I know it's against the rules, but
I'm not sure I can do all the logs that are needed since I'm on Linux Mint
Cinnamon 22.1.
But I have the same error since kernel 6.8.0-50.51, previous kernels don't have
this problem.
Is there any way I can help with

I installed smartmontools, with the command
sudo smartctl -a /dev/sda
I am able to see the S.M.A.R.T. data.
At this point, I wonder if the bug is in the kernel or in gnome-disk-utility.
