I did try the first sudo command in terminal. The updates were found,
but not installed, producing the same error in the earlier attached
image. I did, however, find a fix in a different thread
(https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/209093). I ran both at the same

Thank you for your bug report! This does indeed look like a sudo/root problem.
Can you explain on the sudo command "not working"? Is your password not
working? Or is the problem something else?
Try this:
1) Open a terminal (Go to Applications -> Accessories -> Terminal)
2) In the terminal, write
