Bug 292539 contains some information on this problem.
It appears that moving the file .anjuta/session/anjuta.session away
causes Anjuta to work correctly. If you are getting this problem can
you see if moving this file or others makes a difference and if so
please attach any files that are causin
And now it's no longer working on the final release of Hardy. It just
started happening again on a project that was working fine. I enabled
some of the Anjuta plug-ins and found I couldn't start Anjuta the next
day. Disabling the plug-ins had no effect, so I've had to turn off the
option to open
With the Hardy RC and version 2.4.1 of Anjuta this problem is now
resolved for me
