The gst_poll_write_control assert is also just a side-effect of having
too many open fds.
The process has 1024 open fds, most of which being duplicate entries of
~/.cache/mesa_shader_cache_db/**/*

That only happens with gstreamer1.0-plugins-bad installed, which is
probably why I didn't catch that before

it spam logs

apparently leaking fds, because later on it crashes with:

Accepted gnome-control-center into oracular-proposed. The package will
build now and be available at
https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-control-
center/1:47.1.1-0ubuntu1 in a few hours, and then in the -proposed
repository.
