Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better. This particular bug has already been reported and is a
duplicate of bug 157921, so it is being marked as such. Please look at
Why is that? I think en_US and English / United States is pretty much the same.
And the Dutch languages is visible 3 times, pretty strange.
And if I remove language support from that window, I want to remove
myspell-en-gb, myspell-en-us and myspell-en-za too, not only
language-support-writing-en,

US, ZA and GB are dragged in by language-support-writing-en.
If you removed English support, I guess it removed language-support-writing-en,
but you also need to remove myspell-en-gb, myspell-en-us and myspell-en-za.
OTOH, firefox will still display 2 entries per lang, like "en_US" and
"English /
