As the developer pointed out,
the version 3.32.2+dfsg1-5 as currently available on 24.04 is dated and has
possible security implications be
Ubuntu 24.10 includes gnome-authenticator 4.5. However, the new app is
basically a rewrite so you need to backup your accounts before
upgrading.
Note that Ubuntu 24.10 is not an LTS version so you may want to wait
until 2026 when Ubuntu 26.04 LTS is available with this update.
