I created a PPA for Oracular here
https://launchpad.net/~danilogondolfo/+archive/ubuntu/bugfixes
with patches reverting the problematic changes.
I tested it by creating a LXD container image with the PPA, and
executing the steps from bug description (by launching this image
instead of
