Sorry for posting here (I'm using OpenSuSE 11 KDE4 4.1RC1) - I'm getting the same error whem mounting external NTFS hard drive. I did all that Eugene wrote before my post AND also ran ntfs-config utility. At this point I've just unchecked write support (!?) and here it is - the external HDD mounts

A workaround which worked for me is: I actually got it to work this way in KDE. In Dolphin, right-click the media, go to properties -> mounting and uncheck the "mount as user"-checkbox. This works for me also, using Konqueror as file manager, from
