Hi Wouter,
I did a quick scan through the fedora 9 xserver rpm and didn't see the
shutdown patch, so my guess is that it did in fact make it upstream
(ajax is quite good at putting work into upstream). So I'm 99% sure
we'll automatically pick up the fixes once we incorporate xserver 1.5 in
Intrep
These two look trivial to me and might be candidates? But perhaps they don't
apply to ubuntu, I don't know...:
# Mouse driver no longer sleeps for 0.3 seconds on shutdown for no reason.
# Core server no longer sleeps for 1 second on shutdown for no reason.

If you are sure the fixes are being pushed upstream, that's perfect and
nothing more needs to be done! I don't know if there is anything in the
list that can be applied right now, I don't have the technical knowledge
for that, but perhaps one of the X maintainers can have a quick look at
it?

Since those fixes are being pushed upstream, we should get them
automatically in Xorg 1.5 or 1.6 as they become available, so I don't
think we need a bug for tracking that. If there are other specific
fixes you'd like to see included sooner, please point out the specific
patches each in a separate
