I've made this change now and had Eclipse open for a couple of hours, so
far it is stable, so it looks like this indeed fixes it.

Hi,
It seems that accessibility might be at fault. Would it be possible to
try the following workaround.
Add
export NO_AT_BRIDGE=1
globally (/etc/profile.d) and relogin?
