Could those who still ahve the issue run /usr/lib/gvfs/gvfsd -r and copy
to a comment what is written when the copy breaks? Does gvfs-ls and
gvfs-copy work when nautilus stops working? Could you try to attach gdb
to gvfsd-ssh before copying and not if there is any issue there?

With the box I'm having this trouble with, gvfs 0.2.2 is what I'm using
but still have the same issues. OTOH, I installed on another partition
the beta Hardy CD, then installed all the updates, about 200 at once,
and the issue is not there. So we likely have a situation that if you
haven't updated
could you try using gvfs 0.2.2 and not if that's still an issue?

what sort of external drive is that? can you access it using gvfs-ls
when nautilus displays this error? could you attach your messages syslog
and .xsession-errors logs to the bug?

Today I connected to my external hard drive as described before.
I was renaming some folders on the external hard drive. And around
15min later all of the sudden I cannot reach it anymore. I get the
following error:
"Couldn't display "sftp://@192.168.1.xxx/.../.

I have a similar issue with latest Hardy. In Nautilus, Connect to
Server... . local network computer's name and IP in hosts file, SSH
(sftp) connects, shows directory, and cannot access folders or any
files, cannot unmount the location. Icon stays on desktop until re-boot.
