I've prepared a PPA with a plucky upload. I have had trouble verifying
what behaviour is buggy in byobu. I can definitely see the issue with
parsing, taking the provided .bashrc commands and running manually, but
I don't know how it manifests or logs the issue. what i did

no activity upstream. applying the PR as a patch makes sense at this
point to alleviate the issue for users. Added server-todo, and assigned
to myself to start working on this.

Dustin, if you're getting the email notifications - are you planning on
taking a look at the upstream bug soon? We could plan to go ahead of
debian with sufficient testing, but would rather wait for Dustin since
he maintains both upstream and this Ubuntu package.

Hi Egil, thanks for the update. The changes look reasonable enough to
me, but unfortunately I don't think we will get them in immediately due
to feature freeze just happening. It'd also be nice to get these changes
in upstream so it's an official backport. In the meantime I built a
