The Ubuntu Kernel Team is planning to move to the 2.6.27 kernel for the
upcoming Intrepid Ibex 8.10 release. As a result, the kernel team would
appreciate it if you could please test this newer 2.6.27 Ubuntu kernel.
There are one of two ways you should be able to test:
1) If you are comfortable
Hmm. It seems like I just had to install cpufrequtils for it to work.
Now the ondemand governor is set correctly.

Now, for me /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpuX/cpufreq is available again, too.
Maybe it's related to hibernation or something similar?

I just installed the RC on a D630 this morning. cat /proc/cpuinfo is
reflecting that the MHZ is at 800 when idle. Cpu freq monitor from gnome
confirms as much.
All files in /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpuX/cpufreq are available, and
ondemand is loaded and working.
