Some strange behavior for the Acer Travelmate 8215. Both WLAN and LED
work, if the driver is restarted manually. Kill switch can be used to
turn off WLAN, but not to turn it on again. Therefore, the module

I have that card in a System 76 Serval Performance.
The network manager says I am connected, and gives me full bars, but the
light does not work, nor does the internet

On the lenovo thinkpad R61i the Led turns on, but doesn't flash during
scan or activity as it did in gutsy.
It turned on for me with the update of the kernel-modules 2.6.24-16.

Same here on my Dell Latitude D820 with the same wireless card. I don't
have a '/etc/modprobe.d/ipw3945' file, or anything similar in that
directory.
Wifi connection works perfectly, there is just no light.

Same problem here with a Intel 3945ABG device on a Vaio VGN-SZ2M.
I cant' find a file like /etc/modprobe.d/ipw2200 or /etc/modprobe.d/ipw3945.
I also try to load wireless module "sudo modprobe ipw3945" but get an error:
"FATAL: Module ipw3945 not found."
btw... wireless connection works fine and
I used to have troubles with my acer Travelmate until i used the acerhk
driver. This driver can be downloaded at http://cakey.de/acerhk/
Then i was able to control the led via following command:
echo 1 > /proc/driver/acerhk/wirelessled
i also putted "options ipw2200 led=1" in /etc/modprobe.d/ip
i'm using hardy beta.
the wireless device works fine, just the status light.
