To replicate:
My system uses us-en. 8.04.1 Xubuntu.
Open Character Map, Firefox, and Bluefish Editor
Select a non- us-en character in Character Map (for example, Capital-O with a
tilde '~').
1) Character Map --> Bluefish (expected result)
The character is shown properly
2) Character Map --> Fi
Yes this still happens with intrepid beta.
