It occasionally happens too when I press any function key.
A good example is pressing F1 in a regular xterm, which causes kded to die.

After manually assigning the key in KDE shortcuts, it crashes only the
_first time_ it's used. Further usage works as expected, KDE help is

Hi, same problem here with an Info key on my HP 6510b after upgrading to
Hardy. Kded crashes and, as Julien pointed out, no notifications appear
any more. Neither when inserting an external device, nor when changing

Same probleme here, I've got a Dell Inspiron 6400 and the "MediaDirect" key
worked great with Amarok in Gutsy but since Hardy it causes kded to crash.
Protox's advice didn't work for me and when crashed, even if I try to restart
it I can't use the "MediaDirect" nor the volume buttons (which work

A way to avoid the crash is to manually add the Hotkey to the
Speedcrunch App under System Settings -> Keyboard & Mouse -> Keyboard
Shortcuts -> Command Shortcuts -> (Here I Have put to the SpeedCrunch
the Hotkey for the Calculator)
