Oh, I can't test that as im installing on a Macbook Pro and due to the
hybrid partitioning scheme its rather annoying to get everything to play
nice.

By installing it to disc I mean installing Ubuntu the normal way by
booting from CD, etc... instead of using Wubi. I guess I don't know
enough about how Wubi works to help any more with this bug. Good luck!

It works fine if I dont apt-get update/upgrade. I don't know what you
mean by directly installing it to the disc.

This is likely more an issue with Wubi than it is Ubuntu itself. Does
it crash if you don't do the apt-get update/upgrade? How about if you
install it directly to disc (if possible) and then reboot?
