I had the same situation, when i scroll in text and images pages. In
this moment I use Hardy Heron Beta.

I did the metacity --replace as well, and it fixed the slow scrolling
for me

I did a metacity --replace and this fixed firefox slow scrolling. This
problem was not present in HH Alpha 5 as I remember. Is this a compiz
issue?
