I see this bug on Lifebook U7510 and a freshly installed Ubuntu 24.04.
The workaround "i8042.nomux=1" works for me.

Same here, but please have in mind that the above solution only works
for the default entry in grub, if you want to be sure use
GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX=i8042.nomux (=1 is obsolete according to docs) so it
also works for the older kernel.
But thanks for the solution whover came up with it the first time
