I had problems with HPLIP 2.8.5, with 2.8.6 it works. Please update your
Intrepid system.

I can confirm this problem. The Supplies tab of HPLIP works perfectly on
Ubuntu 7.10 for me.

Confirm the above error on Hardy with a HP K550 Officejet Pro. I can
however use the CLI and this command "hp-info" and the supplies are
reported.
