Can't confirm it but I have noticed something else. I can only get my bit rate
in iwconfig up to 36Mb/s. I would like to see the speed improve as my isp
allows me over 1 megabyte per second download speed. Otherwise the connection
is very stable and I am impressed.

I can confirm this. It *seems* to work on Intrepid, but a fix really
still needs to be released for hardy. Being a long term support release
and all, it would suck if we lost support for wireless cards that depend
on b43. (Mine for example.)
If someone could update me on whether a fix will be r
Thanks for testing and the updates Mark. I'll tentatively mark this
"Fix Released" for Intrepid. Egon, since you are the original bug
repoter, if this is not the case when you are able to test please set
the status back to "New". Thanks.

The Ubuntu Kernel Team is planning to move to the 2.6.27 kernel for the

I am OP of the bug, but I recently switched machines to a new Dell Inspiron

So, I am unable to assist with any additional data about this bug until the
4310 can be tested.

There are some open bugs about the b43 driver.
For me, it drops the connections on WPA Enterprise connections (Eduroam).
I also have a lot of messages: "b43-phy0 ERROR: PHY transmission error"
There are reports of people who get it working, but using the manual
compilation of the driver from the

I use ndiswrapper because of this bug, but I would also like to point out
that b43 seems much worse (as described above) than bcm43xx, however I have
not used b43legacy.

Experiencing the same problem with BCM4318 on Dell Instpiron 2200. My
critical range even shorter. Speed goes down to 4kb/sec at 3 meters.
There were no such problem when i used ndiswrapper.

I am using a BCM4318 on a Gateway MX6027 notebook and have a similar
issue. When I play Diablo II I get periodic spikes! I've tried renicing
the b43 userspace process to 0 instead of it's greedy default -5, but I
don't know if it's working yet.
