If running 'eclipse' in Hardy 64 bit, make sure you provide a 32bit JDK
from Sun.
You can pass in JDK as an argument. (Lets say if you have 32bit java in
/usr/local/jvm).
./eclipse -vm /usr/local/jvm/java/bi

Had exactly the same problem after an upgrade from Gutsy to Hardy Beta.
I downgraded sun-java6-bin and sun-java6-jre. This fixed my problem

I will add a new bug for the Splash resizing error in Eclipse. But the
following error is to be continued.
Locking assertion failure. Backtrace:

#1 /usr/lib/libxcb-xlib.so.0(xcb_xlib_unlock+0x24) [0x7fd3cccdaa84]

I don't know if re-open this bug-report or not, because crashes could
have differents causes.
Any idea?

I'm running "Eclipse SDK Version: 3.3.1 Build id: M20070921-1145" on
Hardy Beta 64. This is on Core2Duo T5450, 4G Ram. I'm running 32 bit
eclipse on 64 bit Hardy to utilize the wtp-all-in-one-sdk features.

I get only following error related to the Splash only
I still get this with today's updates. I am running Hardy Beta. I tried
this with Eclipse 3.2.2 and Java 1.5 and 1.6
My output is basically the same as some above.
Locking assertion failure. Backtrace:

#1 /usr/lib/libxcb-xlib.so.0(xcb_xlib_unlock+0x2
I think we're dealing with two different bugs here.
The first one involving libxcb (the bug that this report actually is about)
seems to be fixed after libxcb reverted to sloppy locking by default.
However, the crash that Sami Dalouche reported occurs on my machine too. As a
matter of fact, all o
Same for me (Eclipse 3.2 and 3.3) on platform Intel Core 2 Duo 7500 (I
don't know for Sami Dalouche on AMD64).
However I'll close this bug-report.
