Hi,
further Evince repositions if you're reloading the file. This problem
only occurs if your're using compiz. This behaviour is making me mad
because my PS preview from TeX shifts down ^^.

Hi,
I have seen this too, although I'm not positive that
it is evince's fault.
What seems to happen is that evince loads and uses
a small size, which is lined up with the right edge of the
desktop. It then loads the document, expands to fit it, and
this expansion pushes it off the screen.
