What is/should-be the status on this bug? It's been sitting "incomplete"
for over 5 months, but it doesn't appear to be waiting for any
information, just going nowhere because of a disagreement. I think we
should either move this along, or mark it invalid.

I disagree with this approach. different APIs should never be handled
with alternatives. when using these alternatives you' ll never know how
the alternative is configured and how it affects the build.
for this particular use case, you really should depend/build-depend on
one servlet package and n
