I have emailed pCloud support and they forwarded the problem to Linux tech
developers. They told me when it gets fixed they will email me. After I
found the freezing I completely rebuilt my Ubuntu 22.04 from scratch and
without pCloud installed everything has been normal since then. When I hear

I am almost 99% sure that this error was caused by installing pCloud
Linux software. Today I rebuilt my computer on Ubuntu 22.04 and did NOT
install pCloud Linux and the problem is gone. There fore my assumption
is that Pcloud caused it although I have no proof.

Running sudo apt install xdg-desktop-portal-gnome resolved the problem
on Vivaldi and Chrome on my Ubuntu 22.04 (upgraded from 20.04) machine.
It did however introduce another problem as fuse was removed during the
installation. .appimages no longer work. Is there another workaround?

I tried the sudo apt install xdg-desktop-portal-gnome, but no luck.
Download does not work with Chrome or Firefox. Executing the command
indicates 0 upgrades, 0 newly installed and 0 not upgraded. I guess I
have the latest version running. I'm using the generic install of 22.04.
Ubuntu was working
I have the same issue on Windows 11, Chrome/Edge freezing for about 3-4
seconds when you save any file to disk. This started a few days ago.

Yes, Olivier. You are correct. I tried a VM and didn't observe the
problem. However, the problem occurs on real hardware. This problem is
not in Ubuntu 20.04.

I cannot observe the problem described here when running the latest
stable version of google chrome in a fully up-to-date 22.04 VM.
Regardless, if this is a problem that happens in brave or Google Chrome,
it should be reported to the upstream projects. See

I am on Ubuntu 22.04.
It also freezes my Google chrome browser(Version 100.0.4896.127), if I
try to upload any file from local. The page and the window become
unresponsive. But I can create new window or close the browser using
right click menu from the GNOME on the top and right sidebar.
