Hello all, I wasted 2 days to get my wifi working with ubuntu 8.10 but
could not get it right. I tried all ubuntu forums and every possible
step I could find. Finally I gave up and installed Fedora10. It works
like a charm on my NR220E. Not just the wifi but all the function keys
works by default.

I've also got this problem running an a Sony Vaio NR21J/S and the
official release of Ubuntu 8.10. The wireless connection worked in 8.04
using madwifi drivers. lspci shows the card but there's no entry in
either ifconfig or iwconfig.

not solve my issue regarding the Marvell Atheros card. I wanted to let you
know immediately so that more possible actions could be taken. I will run the
