'Wayland + nvidia drivers' seems to be very problematic...even with 510
I had to reboot in recovery and edit /etc/gdm3/custom.conf to disable wayland
and reinstall nvidia 470 to get a working system again.
I did enable some PPAs, for hardware like an intel realsens
