I had similar problem.
It was solved once I restored the
Section "InputDevice"
in /etc/X11/xorg.conf
[diff lines]:
< Driver "vmmouse"
---
> Driver "mouse"
> Option "CorePointer"
> Option "Device""/dev/input/mice"

Hmm, with the recent update of xfwm4 and xorg, looks like I can move
windows again. I didn't enable compiz or X composite at all.

If your machine is capable of running compiz, what happens when you:
>compiz --replace
Do you get control of the windows?

xfwm4 was already running in my case, and killing xfwm4 and rerunning
doesn't fix the problem.

I've had problems running compiz then going back to xfce and I have to
rerun the xfce window manager to get control. Try this in a terminal:

Sometimes you have to go to Manage Workspaces and bump them back up to 4
workspaces because it always seems to get se
I cannot seem to also open the xfce menu from the xfce menu panel
button. Perhaps this is related?
