RAR is discussed in different bug-report - bug 1947055 . Please do not
mix them.
The current EPUB-related bug is fixed upstream for newer Engrampa releases.
Please read linked bug-report.
Possible way to fix it on your current Ubuntu MATE 20.04 LTS it to add MATE
1.26 PPA to the system by using
"status:Unknown → Fix Released"
