Hi!
I'm sorry I was unclear. I meant that I was on just "Ubuntu" and then
switched to "Ubuntu on Wayland". Sadly this didn't help, so I created
the bug report.
Today I tried installing Ubuntu in Legacy mode. This didn't help. Again,
the graphic safe installer works normally but not the normal ins

just "Ubuntu".

Thank you for your replies!
I switched to "Ubuntu on Wayland" to test if this helped. Unfortunately,
flickering happens at both options.
I'll try to switch to Legacy. That's good advice! Thanks!

I also wonder if this might be another HP BIOS bug like bug 1906086...
Please try changing your BIOS mode to legacy BIOS (or to UEFI if it's
already legacy). But be warned; you may need to reinstall Ubuntu in
order to boot again after changing the setting.

Thanks for the bug report. You appear to be using Wayland at the moment.
Can you please try logging into Xorg instead? It's the option on the
login screen titled "Ubuntu" instead of "Ubuntu on Wayland".
