You are hit by bug #192992 during the upgrade. Its fixed in the archive
now, please open a terminal window and run: "sudo apt-get install
python-central ; sudo apt-get install -f". The should fix the issues.

Thanks, some bugs seems to have gone away but there's few still hanging
around.
When I try opening the partition editor(gparted), I get this error:
Failed to execute child process "su-to-root" (No such file or directory)
In update manager I get this bug:

Mr.UNOwen, the gparted issue is probably caused, because you are missing
the "menu" package. Please confirm that after installing "menu", gparted
can be started. See bug 191577.
Otherwise it's probably a good idea to create new bug reports for each
problem.

Thanks, that did the job for GParted, now the only one still causing
issues is the Sound Preference unable to play system sounds like the
login music. It was working when I was using gutsy.
