I have the same problem. I think that when you close Pidgin with right click it save the position, than maximize and than close. If it is closed by event it only maximize and than close. According me must to be managed the closing routine. The problem I have in Fedora 9 - Gnome 2.22.1 - started

Pidgin should remember whether it quits minimized or maximized. In the pidgin-forum it is assumed that it is because shutting down causes Pidgin to maximize the buddy-window before shutdown. But that's not the issue I think, because when quitting the app via rightclick on systrayicon Pidgin maximiz
