My problem may be unrelated (because I'm running PowerPC) but I have NOT
experienced the shutdowns in the four months since I upgraded to Dapper
6.06.1. Because it's a random condition I can never be absolutely sure
BUT I have been doing everything that (in previous kernels) would have
resulted in
In the meantime I changed laptop again (to an Acer Travelmate 2428wxci),
it works perfectly fine; I haven't been able to test the others lately,
but they seemed fixed for me around dapper...

I also have this problem with my laptop suddenly turning itself off.
Bang - like what happens when you press the power button for 5 seconds.
