I have tried In Kubuntu 8.04 Alpha5 and no problem (But I have tried with the
liveCD system).
I go to try installed version with the next stable release (8.04), and I go to
add here the next commment in April.

Is this issue still persistent in Hardy? I don't have any floppy drives

Kubuntu has a seroius problem with floppy drives: It can not mount
automatically floppy drives.
This is a Kubuntu bug because in other KDE distributions the problem do not
exists.
