Yes, that was it - the xulrunner updated before Firefox. Now they're
compatible again it's all fine.
Still, it's a curious failure message. Does it mean anything to someone?
Logically there ARE no version numbers between 1.9b3 and 1.9b3...

Happened again today (March 13th 2008). The GRE version numbers are
1.9b3 and 1.9b3. I'll try to get xulrunner and Firefox 3b3 version
numbers consistent and see what happens. Having to use Ff-2.

this was a hick-up because of a missing Breaks in the xulrunner-1.9
control file. I fixes this in the latest xulrunner-1.9 update. to fix
this, just upgrade everything to latest.

My version numbers are slightly different (and more lines).
I think the recent XUL-RUNNER update was probably the cause, but I'm not sure
what to roll back.

Hi Fabien,
I did the upgrade as you suggested, but now the Firefox 2 is gone. The upgrade
caused that I can run Firefox 3 now but Firefox 2 was upgraded to Firefox 3. So
there is only one version of Firefox now and it is Firefox 3.
Is there any way to have both versions of Firefox installed toge
so your firefox-3.0 is not up-to-date.
It is probably stuck by a dependency. Either try an apt-get dist-upgrade or
force it using synaptic.
Then it should start.
