Daniel, Tnx for the prompt reply. Here are my findings: re 1.: /var/crash is empty. There are no files. Just to let you know://Immediately after I logged in, I switched to one screen mode. The system did not crash. I assume, that older crash files should be in /var/crash from earlier crashes.
